Dear Bromfield Middle School Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to share some additional information about two special events for our students.
On Tuesday, June 16, we will hold our annual TBMS Field Day. Organized by the Middle School Student Council, Field Day will begin with a cookout lunch and continue through the afternoon with a variety of activities designed to help students celebrate the end of a successful school year. Students will have opportunities to participate in athletic competitions, team games, arts and crafts, board games, scavenger hunts, and other activities. Whether students prefer friendly competition, creative expression, or simply spending time with friends outdoors, there will be something for everyone.
The following day, Wednesday, June 17, we will celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2030. The morning will include several activities designed to help students reflect on their middle school experience and prepare for the transition to high school.
The Grade 8 Celebration will begin at 1:00 PM in the Cronin Auditorium. Family members and guests are warmly invited to attend, and there is no limit on the number of guests per student. Doors will open at approximately 12:45 PM. The ceremony will include student performances, recognition of student accomplishments, and the presentation of certificates as we honor our 8th graders and their transition to TBHS.
Following the ceremony, students, families, and staff are invited to gather in the auditorium lobby for sweet treats and conversation. We are currently seeking donations of baked goods and other treats for the reception. We are also looking for a parent or caregiver of a Grade 6 or 7 student who would be willing to coordinate this effort. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to me at dhudder@psharvard.org.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Mr. Daniel Hudder Bromfield Middle School Principal

WEEKLY UPDATES

SIXTH GRADE
In Ancient Civilizations, students are currently exploring the fascinating world of Ancient Rome. During this unit, students will learn about Roman culture, including daily life, government, religion, engineering, entertainment, and the lasting influence Rome has had on the modern world.
Students will also investigate one of history's most important political transitions: the fall of the Roman Republic. Through discussions, readings, and primary source analysis, they will examine how political conflict, social inequality, military power, and influential leaders such as Julius Caesar contributed to the Republic's decline and the rise of the Roman Empire.
As students study these topics, they will practice critical thinking skills by analyzing historical evidence, considering multiple perspectives, and making connections between the past and present. We encourage families to ask students about what they are learning and discussing how Roman ideas and innovations continue to shape our society today.
Textbooks = Please return to Mr. Wright by Wednesday, June 10th. Thank you!

SEVENTH GRADE
In Math, students were wrapping up their Statistics Unit before taking the Unit Assessment this Monday and Tuesday (6/1 and 6/2). We have now moved on to Probability that will have an Assessment later next week.
During the FLEX period, students have been rotating with their Homerooms to all the 7th Grade Homerooms for Challenge Days. The five rotations are pop darts, paper airplane making, ping-pong, minute to win it activities, and catapults. Students have been having fun, using teamwork, and hopefully incorporating some Science into the fun as well.

UNIFIED ARTS
Hello from TBMS PE for the final time in the 2025-2026 school year.
As we begin to wrap up our curriculum with a few weeks of lower intensity games, students are currently participating in doubles tennis gameplay and will finish out June playing disc golf. Though we haven’t been hit with consistent heat yet, these activities allow us to stay active without pushing too hard in the early summer sun.
Students and families can keep an eye out for an email detailing the data captured by our new class set of Spirit heart rate monitors, which we received this winter with a generous grant from the Harvard Schools Trust. These reports will show TIZ (Time in Zones) of high, moderate and low heart rate output during class activities. While we spent many classes this spring testing out the equipment, a full roll out of this technology can be expected in the 26-27 school year.
Have a great summer and stay active!
