TBMS Weekly Newsletter - Issue 26-27.1

Posted Date: 08/21/26 (01:58 PM)

Weekly Newsletter | August 21, 2026
Dear Bromfield Middle School Families,

Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and found plenty of opportunities to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. It is hard to believe that we are now less than two weeks away from the first day of school!

There is something special about the beginning of a new school year. Our students will walk through the doors with new teachers, new classes, new classmates, and new opportunities ahead of them. At the same time, they bring with them everything they learned and experienced last year - academically, socially, and personally. Our faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for their return, and I am tremendously excited to welcome everyone back for a school year filled with Learning and Joy.

Almost Opening Day

For our incoming Grade 6 students and other students who are new to TBMS, Almost Opening Day will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 1:00 - 2:00 PM, in the Cronin Auditorium at TBS. Almost Opening Day gives students a chance to become comfortable with TBMS before the first day of school - navigating the building, finding their classrooms, locating their lockers, meeting faculty and classmates, and getting a feel for the routines of middle school. Families of new students will also have an opportunity to learn more about TBMS and ask questions as we prepare for the year ahead. We hope the experience allows our newest students to arrive on the first day feeling a little more comfortable, confident, and connected.

Supply Lists!

If you have not had a chance to look at our welcome letters and list of school supplies for this year, the information you need is linked here:

Grade 6 Welcome Letter - Class of 2033
Grade 7 Welcome Letter - Class of 2032

Grade 8 Welcome Letter - Class of 2031

Student Schedules

Student schedules will be available in PowerSchool at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 24. A few important notes:

  • Students and families should review schedules upon receiving them. I recommend printing out a copy or having an electronic copy on your phone to bring to Almost Opening Day.

  • A few student schedules have holes. If you think you might be missing a class, like art or music in grade 6, you can reach out to ourTBMS School Counselor Kim Faulconer (kfaulconer@psharvard.org) to address the issue. We will also have the opportunity to work out such issues at the tail end of Almost Opening Day.

  • Please reach out to Ms. Faulconer with questions about individual schedules.

Student Device Distribution

We will begin distributing school-issued devices next week. Please note that all students must have completed lending paperwork on file before they may bring a school-issued device home.

  • Students new to Harvard Public Schools: Devices may be picked up immediately following Almost Opening Day at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26. Students and parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend together.

  • Returning Grade 8 students: Devices may be picked up on Wednesday, August 26, from 10:00-11:30 AM or 2:00-3:30 PM, or Tuesday, September 1, from 3:00-5:00 PM. Students and parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend together.

  • Returning HPS students entering Grades 6 and 7: Devices will be distributed during homeroom after school begins.

Before picking up a device: Students and caregiver should review the Student Lending Policy and the accompanying Taking Care of Your Device presentation together, then sign the final page of the lending policy. Please bring the signed page to device pickup; hard copies will also be available.

Where to go: Device pickup will take place in the TBS Cafeteria. Families will move through stations for paperwork, device pickup, and password resets.

Unable to attend? Families may complete the required paperwork in advance and have their student return it when school begins. Students may not bring their device home until the required paperwork has been completed.

If you have any questions about device distribution, feel free to contact Mr. Boyle (cboyle@psharvard.org).

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mr. Daniel Hudder
Bromfield Middle School Principal

New Faces at TBMS!!!

Please join me in welcoming these four wonderful educators to the TBMS family.

Katie Lancey

TBS Special Education Coordinator

Hi Bromfield families! My name is Katie Lancey, and I’m excited to be joining the Bromfield community this year. I’m new to Bromfield, but not to the district, as I previously worked at the elementary school. I’m really looking forward to getting to know our students and families and being part of the Bromfield community. Outside of school, I’m a mom of two and love spending time with my family. In my free time, you can usually find me reading a good book or planning (or taking!) a trip to Disney World with my kids. I’m looking forward to a great year and getting to know all of you!

Jennifer Meegan

7th Grade Special Education

My name is Jen Meegan, and I’m so excited to continue my teaching journey in Harvard this year as a Special Education teacher in 7th grade! This is my 16th year teaching. I live in Littleton with my husband, step son and two daughters. I enjoy being with my family, running, going to the beach, hiking and relaxing by the pool! I look forward to being a part of this wonderful district!

Edwina Rasamison

TBMS French Teacher

Hi! I’m Edwina Rasamison. I am excited to join the TBMS community as the new French teacher! I taught the French language and culture for several years in Massachusetts, in Cairo, Egypt, and most recently in Kathmandu, Nepal. I love traveling the world and discovering new places, languages, cultures, and especially food! I enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge for languages and cultures. After many years of teaching and adventures around the world, I am happy to be back in Massachusetts with my family and excited for this new adventure!

Meghan Scarborough

School Counseling/TBMS Office Administrative Assistant

Hi! I'm Meghan Scarborough, the new Administrative Secretary for the School Counseling Department at The Bromfield School. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in School Counseling at Assumption University and am excited to begin my career supporting students. Before joining Bromfield, I worked in the central office of a regional high school, taught dance, and even had the opportunity to work at Walt Disney World. Outside of work, I'm a big Disney fan and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I'm thrilled to be part of the Bromfield community and look forward to a wonderful school year!
